Description

The hatch cover is the single item of shipboard equipment that causes the largest and most expensive claims on bulk and general cargo vessels. The condition of the hatch covers is essential to the watertight integrity of these vessels and to the preservation of the cargo on passage.

Rightship recommends that all masters and chief officers attend formal Hatch Cover Inspection and Maintenance training, that includes a generic part supplemented with a type specific part for the hatch cover fitted.

The objective is to give the ship’s officer and crew the required generic knowledge of safe operation, inspection and maintenance of  hatch covers.  This generic training is supplemented with an onboard type specific training part on hatch cover operation, inspection and maintenance in accordance with the manufacturers maintenance manual and the vessels Safety Management System (SMS).

On completion of this course you will receive a Certificate of Completion from Ocean Technologies Group, powered by Marlins, Seagull and Videotel.
