Description
The STCW Basic Safety Training course, in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code makes up the minimum safety requirements for familiarisation and basic training required for those intending to work onboard a cruise / passenger ship. The course has been specifically tailored for those taking up employment on cruise ships. This course covers the theory content only and will result in the issue of a restricted certificate on successful completion.
The course is made up of four elements, meeting the minimum STCW 2010 familiarisation requirements.
This course is not suitable for seafarers who have duties and responsibilities which require them to be qualified in accordance with STCW Code, part A, chapters II, III or VII.

Course Contents
The course includes the following components.
- Personal survival techniques as set out in table A-VI/1-1
- Fire prevention and fire-fighting as set out in table A-VI/1-2
- Elementary first aid as set out in table A-VI/1-3
- Personal safety and social responsibilities as set out in table A-VI/1-4
