Ex – Safe Behaviour in Hazardous Areas Training Course

With the development and implementation of alternate fuels in the maritime industry we will see more hazardous areas on board the vessel, and steps need to be implemented to minimize the dangers to crew and vessel.

Internationally and on ships, the standards IEC 60079-14 require documentation of competence for those who are responsible for Ex areas, those who select and install Ex equipment and those who design Ex facilities. The standard IEC 60079-17 requires documented competence for responsible persons and technical personnel with a leading function, as well as operational technicians and technicians who carry out inspections and maintenance.

The course provides basic knowledge of hazardous areas and the risks associated with passing through or working in such areas. On completion of this course you will receive a Certificate of Completion from Ocean Technologies Group, powered by Marlins, Seagull and Videotel.

Please note:  The assessment part of this course must be completed onboard ship or onshore in the offices of a registered shipping company or maritime institution.
