Description
The safe handling of dangerous goods can depend upon those at management and operational level having a proper appreciation of the risks associated with these hazardous cargoes. The shipment of solid bulk cargoes presents a number of hazards to a vessel including structural damage or loss of stability during a voyage. It is therefore essential that crewmembers follow the practices and procedures set out in the IMSBC Code to ensure the safe stowage and shipment of solid bulk cargoes.
This course provides the essential knowledge required by those at management and operational level, involved in planning stowage, handling and transporting dangerous goods in solid form. It will also help learners to maintain safe and effective cargo operations by identifying safe procedures and best practice to be adopted, highlighting the risks and dangers associated with the carriage of certain bulk cargoes. The course covers general dangerous goods safety awareness and emergency response to incidents involving solid bulk cargoes.
On completion of this course you will receive a Certificate of Completion from Ocean Technologies Group powered by Marlins, Seagull and Videotel.
Please note: The assessment part of this course may be completed onboard ship or onshore in the offices of a registered shipping company or maritime institution.
