Marine Environmental Awareness Training Course

Description

Protecting the environment and reduce the human footprint has become first priority across the globe today. We all must contribute and first start with our local environment. On board a modern vessel there is a number of substances that represent a harm to the environment, therefore it is critical to educate personnel and organize the effort to prevent all types of pollution from the vessel.

This course has been developed together with the Dutch company ProSea. ProSea has been providing marine awareness courses since 1999 and developed the IMO model course for Marine Environmental Awareness.

This course explores the contribution of the human element to the prevention of pollution and is intended to educate, stimulate and empower officers in the prevention of pollution in their daily work. At the end of this course you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the importance of preventing pollution to the marine environment.

On completion of this course you will receive a Certificate of Completion from Ocean Technologies Group powered by Marlins, Seagull and Videotel.

This course is intended for completion while on board, but trainees can also undertake it under examination conditions at the company office, as long as they have access to their vessels' documentation

Please note:  The assessment part of this course must be completed onboard ship or onshore in the offices of a registered shipping company or maritime institution.
